Demo Slot Footage: Distinguish Free Play From a Feature Demonstration

A screen recording made without a real-money stake may be useful for explaining an interface. It is not automatically evidence of typical returns. The first editorial question is which mode produced the footage: ordinary free play, a scripted presentation or a feature-focused demonstration.

The Gambling Commission’s RTS 6 distinguishes relevant contexts. For corresponding free-play and money games on the same facilities, it requires matching rules and reasonable steps toward representative winning likelihood and prize distribution. Its guidance also addresses supplier-site demonstrations with enhanced returns and disclosure of promotional editing. This is British regulatory context, not a blanket certification of online demos.

Label what was actually recorded

For an educational video, state the product, source, recording date and displayed mode. If the supplier provides a specific feature-preview control, describe the recording as that preview rather than as a naturally occurring session. If the capture was edited, identify the cut instead of implying continuity.

Consider two hypothetical clips: one starts at the normal game screen and runs continuously; another begins immediately inside a selected feature. The second may illustrate feature mechanics very clearly, but it cannot establish the rate at which that feature occurs during ordinary rounds. These are different uses of evidence, not a judgement about production quality.

Matching distributions are not matching sequences

Even when two modes use the same probability distribution, they need not produce the same sequence of outcomes. Two properly generated samples can look very different. A favourable short demo therefore does not predict what would happen with money, and an unfavourable one does not estimate the full distribution reliably.

No financial exposure in a demo also changes the experience being portrayed. A creator should not present a virtual balance as cash won or imply that a demonstration proves a repeatable income.

Keep the conclusion proportionate

A casino influencer can use demo footage to show navigation, symbol behaviour or a help panel. Claims about actual probability, return or session results require separate evidence. When the capture’s origin cannot be verified, the honest label is demonstration footage with unverified mode, not real-money play or typical gameplay.
