Two screenshots carrying the same slot title are not enough to prove that every underlying setting matches. A responsible comparison identifies the version and the information panel that belongs to the recorded game, rather than treating a search result as a universal specification.
Separate identification from performance
In Britain, the Gambling Commission’s RTS 7D addresses changes to rules, payouts and outcome probabilities: changes outside the game’s described rules require attention to suspension and customer notification. Its RTS 3 also requires accessible information about the game and likelihood of winning. These are British standards, not a finding that any particular operator has complied or that all markets use identical requirements.
A practical comparison record
For an editorial review, capture the full title, provider, visible version identifier if supplied, the dated help screen and the stated RTP for the relevant mode. Record unavailable identifiers as unavailable. Do not invent a build number from a URL, and avoid exposing session tokens or private account information in screenshots.
Next ask whether the compared numbers refer to the same thing. A base game, an optional mode and a feature can have different labels in the rules. If their denominators or conditions are not established, report the difference as unresolved rather than choosing the larger number for a headline.
Suppose one archived screenshot states 96% and a later one states 94%. Those illustrative values show a documentation difference. By themselves they do not prove when a change occurred, who selected it or that the software changed while an individual round was in progress. A claim about the cause needs further evidence.
What a creator should not conclude
A short run of losses is not a version detector. Session results cannot reliably identify the configured theoretical return without a suitable model and enough data, and they do not replace the game’s documentation. Equally, a familiar title does not excuse an unexplained mismatch between a review and the displayed rules.
For casino influencer coverage, the strongest correction is often simple: replace an unsupported universal RTP claim with the exact figure and context actually observed, or state that the configuration could not be verified. This approach improves accuracy without presenting any version as a route to profit.
