Immortal Baccarat explained: the Player-seven push comes with a payout trade-off

A rule that prevents one losing outcome from losing money can sound like a free improvement. Immortal Baccarat illustrates why a responsible explanation must show the entire settlement structure, not just its most memorable exception.

What the published version changes

Crown Melbourne’s Baccarat Rules version 30.0, effective August 24, 2026, specify that a Player total of seven against Banker eight or nine does not win or lose the Player wager. That includes Banker naturals. But a winning Player seven pays only half the wager as profit; winning Banker six is also paid at that reduced rate.

The operator’s Immortal Baccarat guide separately lists the Player house edge as 2.15%, Banker as 1.46%, and the optional Immortal Dragon side wager as 17.63%. These are the operator’s figures for its published version, not independently simulated figures or promises about a session.

Why the complete comparison matters

Consider an illustration using ten units. On a qualifying winning Player seven, half-rate profit is five units, not ten. On the specified seven-versus-eight-or-nine exception, the original Player stake is returned without profit. Those are different outcomes and should receive different captions.

The analytical question is not whether one round feels more forgiving. It is how every possible settlement contributes to the overall distribution. A special push cannot be evaluated sensibly while ignoring reduced payments elsewhere. Nor does a quoted house edge predict the amount any individual will lose over a short sequence.

Keep the side wager separate

For a casino influencer explaining the format, use separate rows for the base Player wager, base Banker wager and any optional side wager. Do not label the entire game with the side wager’s advertised payout, or imply that a push on the main wager automatically creates a side-wager payment.

This is an evergreen explanation of a named venue’s published rules, checked October 28, 2026. It is not a recommendation to play, and another venue’s similarly named product should be checked against its own rules.
