Slot Account Limits: Gross Deposits, Net Deposits and Losses Are Different Measures

When a slot video mentions a financial limit, the label matters as much as the number. A restriction on money entering an account is not automatically a restriction on stakes or net gambling losses. Conflating them can make a review of an operator’s interface misleading.

Read the current definition

The Gambling Commission’s RTS 12, updated 30 September 2026, requires gross deposit limits as a minimum and reserves the deposit-limit label for that definition. The required durations include 24 hours, seven days and one month. The standard distinguishes optional stake, loss and net-deposit limits. Net deposits subtract withdrawals from deposits; loss limits compare stakes with returns. These requirements concern the British regulatory framework rather than every jurisdiction.

A hypothetical ledger

Consider an invented account with £60 deposited, £20 withdrawn, £100 staked and £75 returned from those stakes during one clearly defined period. Gross deposits are £60. Net deposits are £40. The difference between stakes and returns is £25. Each figure answers a different question; none can be substituted for another just because all three use pounds.

The illustration is arithmetic, not a statement about a particular account or a suggested budget. It also shows why transaction periods must match. Comparing this week’s deposits with today’s stakes would produce a number without a consistent basis.

What a review should establish

A useful assessment records the limit’s name, its time window and whether it covers the whole account or a particular product. It then distinguishes the setting displayed from evidence that the setting actually took effect. A screenshot of a requested change is not necessarily a screenshot of an active restriction.

For a casino influencer, an accurate caption might say that a gross-deposit control is displayed. It should not say that the account cannot lose more than that figure without establishing opening funds and the actual control involved. Financial controls do not change game probabilities, and their availability is not a reason to increase participation.
